Aristotelis Georgios Sakellariou

Aristotelis holds a BA Hons in Conservation (Lincoln, UK) and two master’s degrees: an MA Distinction in Care of Collections-Preventive Conservation and an MA Distinction in Museum Management (Newcastle, UK), both focusing on collection management. He is a member of the Museology Lab at the Ionian University in Corfu, true to his Ionian roots, and has completed his PhD with the topic: The Presence of Museums in Popular Video Games. Yes, video games do feature museums—lots of them!

With international professional experience (Qatar Museums Authority, The Collection in Lincoln, UK, The Islamic Arts Museum in Malaysia, The Museum at the Lowest Place on Earth in Jordan, the Museum of Modern Greek Culture in Athens, and others) and various managerial roles in collection management, Aristotelis is thrilled to be part of the Video Games Museum in Heraklion. Here, he combines his expertise and passion—mostly because the museum has the coolest team he’s ever worked with!
