Talk at TEDxUniversityofCrete: The Many Sides of Video Game Addiction Recovery

The event welcomed a large audience and became a true meeting point of ideas, stories, and lived experiences. As part of the TEDxUniversityofCrete program, the Video Games Museum participated with a specially designed exhibition space and a talk that received an overwhelmingly positive response.

In the talk titled “Between Realities: The Many Sides of Video Game Addiction Recovery,” the museum’s founder, Manolis Varouchas, shared personal stories and reflections on our relationship with video games — their magic, their influence, and the fine line between passion and excess. The audience’s strong engagement demonstrated how relevant and necessary the discussion about balance and self-awareness truly is.

The museum’s booth was one of the most popular spaces during the event, attracting visitors of all ages — students and non-students alike — who had the chance to see iconic items from the museum’s collection, interact with our team, and explore the cultural and historical dimensions of digital entertainment.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to the TEDxUniversityofCrete team for the excellent organization, the smooth collaboration, and the opportunity to share our vision with such an inspiring audience.

The Video Games Museum continues its mission to showcase the cultural, historical, and educational value of video games through exhibitions, public engagement, and collaborations with institutions and educators.
