Atari 2600 Jr. (Long Rainbow)
The Atari 2600 Jr., also known as the Atari 2600 "long rainbow" or "rainbow" version, is a redesign of the original Atari 2600 console. It was released in 1986, towards the end of the console's lifespan.
The Atari 2600 Jr. is smaller and more compact than the original console and features a sleek black design with a rainbow-colored Atari logo on the top. The console still uses the same cartridge system as the original Atari 2600, allowing users to play a wide variety of games.
One of the major differences between the Atari 2600 Jr. and the original console is the removal of the RF port for connecting to a TV. Instead, the console only includes an RCA video output, which can be problematic for those with older TVs that do not have RCA inputs.
Despite its late release and limited availability, the Atari 2600 Jr. has become a popular collector's item due to its unique design and place in Atari history.
